CONTRA VISION APPOINTS STARLEATON - September 16, 2010
17th September 2010 – Starleaton Digital Solutions will use the Visual Impact Image Expo and PrintWorks shows in Sydney (20-22 September) to launch the full range of Contra Vision® see-through window advertising films to the Australian and New Zealand signage, retail and display markets. Contra Vision® Performance™ perforated films enable advertising messages to be clearly displayed on the printable side while allowing light transmission and vision from the opposite side.
Starleaton’s General Manager, Ben Eaton, claims the Contra Vision® deal is one of the most significant in his company’s recent history: “For too long, customers have been restricted in their choice of printable perforated window films for buildings, shops and vehicle glass or plastics. We are now delighted to offer the broad range of high quality products from Contra Vision®, the inventor of see-through window graphics, to our Australian and New Zealand customers.”
Contra Vision® Commercial Manager Rob Stone is traveling from the UK to attend Visual Impact/PrintWorks and support the launch. The Performance™ range offers two notable differences. One is Grayliner™ technology which simulates the darker interior of a building or vehicle and shows to the printer a close approximation of the finished, applied result. This enables more accurate proofing and production. The Grayliner™ dot pattern is also available as a software download to simulate see-through graphics when proofed on plain paper for client approvals.
The second important option offered by the Contra Vision® range is the ability to produce graphics that adhere to the inside of glass and plastics, as well as outside. Ben Eaton explains: “In some situations, applying the graphics to the inside of the glass is preferable, or even mandated by shopping centre and building owners. Contra Vision® TT™ enables the application of white and black layers over the reverse-reading printed clear perforated vinyl, ready for inside glass application. This can also serve to protect graphics from dirt, car washes and vandalism because the glass is on the exterior.”
At Visual Impact/PrintWorks, six applications of Contra Vision® films will be on display:
• 30% light transmission (mostly for buildings and retail windows)
• 40% light transmission (conforms to Australian vehicle VLT regulations)
• Interior of glass application
• Solvent and eco-solvent printed films
• UV-cured printed films
• Backlight day & night printed films
