SCREEN AND STARLEATON JOIN FORCES FOR FLATBED UV SALES - October 7, 2010
Sydney, October 7th 2010 – Dainippon Screen Australia and Starleaton Digital Solutions have announced a co-operative agreement that sees Starleaton offering the Screen Truepress Jet 2500UV and 1600 UV-f presses in the Eastern States of Australia.
Commenting on the agreement, Screen Managing Director Akira Hayakawa says: “Starleaton has great market penetration because of its extensive range of consumables for both roll-feed and flatbed. Their staff are very experienced and competent in wide-format, so we have been able to reach an agreement where they can offer Screen wide-format presses to a broader range of customers.”
Starleaton Managing Director Ben Eaton says: “We began by running tests on the Screen Truepress Jet 2500UV and were amazed at the image quality achieved on several of our flexible and rigid substrates. We look deeper into Screen’s range and found the build, reliability and reputation was just what our more quality-conscious customers wanted. We are delighted to be in a position to offer the Truepress Jet 2500 and 1600 UV models to our Victorian, NSW, ACT and Queensland customers.”
Screen’s Truepress Jet 2500UV is a flatbed and roll-feed press that handles up to 2.5 metre wide media by any length and up to 50mm thick. At 1500dpi maximum resolution and with Screen FM/AM screening, it is the highest-resolution flatbed UV printer on the market. Available in 4 or 6 colour configurations, plus white ink, the 2500UV can print up to 3 or 5 layers for true photographic quality demanded by the advertising industry.
The Truepress Jet 1600 UV-f is a moving-head flatbed printer with roll feed option that uses LEDs to hard cure UV ink. Resolution is up to 1200 dpi and max media width is 1.69 metres x 3.19 metres.
At the recent PrintWorks Expo, entrance signage was printed using Starleaton’s Enviroboard MR material on a Truepress Jet 2500UV. “The Truepress inks are bright and very flexible and adhere well to most substrates,” says Eaton; “these are definitely UV presses for high-end performance in wide format production.”
Screen’s wide format presses will continue to be available through TEK in WA and SA.
